Standard Lever Type Load Binder
A load binder is often used to bind or to tighten a chain that is securing a heavy load or large structure. The ratchet load binder helps stabilize the load during transportation. Ratchet load binders are used in the offshore oil, trucking, agriculture, timber, and mining industries. The ratchet load binder can be used with several binders to secure materials and cargo loaded onto trucks, ships or out at sea on an oil rig platform. A lever load binder is often not as strong as a ratchet load binder when increased leverage or pull on a chain is required. It is important to remember that any tool needs to be operated safely and within a particular working load limit (WLL) to avoid serious injury from improper use. Ratchet load binders are easier to use than level type binders.
